Reach Your Piano Potential with Piano Proficiency Academy
OUR STORY
Many schools of music face challenges in providing fully equipped piano labs for teaching functional piano skills—commonly known as "Group Piano." If this speaks to you, this program is for you. You can get the same teachings, the same curriculum, and learn at your own pace while being in a community with common interests.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve worked with many non-piano majors and students who needed to pass the Piano Proficiency Exam in college. Some even sought out private lessons to help them prepare. However, what I’ve seen is that the expectations of private lessons and group courses can be worlds apart. The private lesson approach is often focused on technique and repertoire, while group courses are designed to build practical, transferable skills—and they tend to be quite expensive.
When I was a piano major, I used to believe that being able to play challenging repertoire by Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, Liszt, and Mendelssohn meant you had mastered the piano. I quickly learned that I was wrong. There’s a big difference between playing at a high level and having the practical piano skills you need for everyday musical situations.
.
This is where Piano Proficiency Academy (PPA) comes in. I created this course to help you widen your piano abilities so you can apply them in real-life situations. Whether you’re a non-piano major, a musician who plays other instruments, or someone looking to strengthen your piano skills for career advancement, this course is for you.
